Remarks

This unit is extremely stable, given its weight, and therefore favoured in the 1970's by many breakwater designers. However, it proved that the strucural integrity of this unit is a problem when the unit is big. This has lead to a number of failures, notably the Sines failure Nowadays no big Dolosse are used any more.
