You may search via typing words in the search box. Words in this box are considered as conneted via "OR". For eaxact phrases use quotes, e.g. "zee- en meerdijken". The wildcard is *, e.g. meerdijk*. A wildcard with a term with a space does not work "zee- en meerdijk"* does not work. "meerdijk"* works.
In order to limit the search field, a search
class can be added in the search box. Search classes can be: creator (= author),
contributor, subject (=keyword), publisher
For example classification:TPG* gives all hits with classification starting with
TPG. Important: note that there is no blank betweeen : and the class (so
classification: TPG* does not work). It also seems that this is case-sensitive (classification:tpg*
does not work).
In case the search term consist of spaces and/or symbols, add quotes. So creator:Verhagen gives publication of various person with family name Verhagen, When you search a specific author, add initials and use quotes: creator:"Verhagen, H.J." In this case creator:Verhagen* and creator:"Verhage"* does not work, but creator:"Verhagen"* works
At this moment project is not a searchable field.

"type" is always "report" in DiRK-Hydro, so it can be left blank.

For DiRK reports can be uploaded directly. Please follow these conventions:
| Author (internally called creator) | Enter surname, initials and
optional surname prefix eg. Leeuwe J. De. When no author is known fill in Anonymus N.N. |
| Contributor | When reports are produced in the framework of an official advisory group, such a group is often called after the chairman (e.g. commissie Veerman, commissie Boertien). You can place the name of this chairman in this field |
| Summary (internally called Description) | Preferably not more than 400 words; avoid symbols, subscripts, etc. |
| Keyword (internally called subject) | Your own choice of keywords |
| Classification | Use a term from the list of possible classifications; when there is no appropriate classification send a mail to mail@dicea.nl in order to add a term |
| Doi | Digital object identifier, fill in only when known |
| Issue date | When no month or day is known, fill in the fist of the month (so when only the year 1963 is known, fill in 1963-01-01) |
| Embargo date | Leave blank when no embargo is placed on this document |
